When trying on work boots:

★Wear the same socks as at work. Polyester or wool/synthetic blends will make your feet more comfortable than cotton. The cushioning at the bottom provides extra comfort.

★Test length. Slide your foot forward until your toes touch the front of the boot. Bend your knees forward. The width of the index finger should be exactly between the heel and the back of the shoe. Test your feet.

★Make sure that the shoelaces keep your feet in place comfortably. They will not make you uncomfortable, they should prevent your feet from slipping to the front of the boot.

★Make sure the boots are bent at the soles of your feet. Avoid boots that are bent in the arch area. They don't have enough support.

★Remember that your feet will swell at the end of a long day, especially when it is hot. Try on boots after get off work so that your feet will be the largest.
